What I Check

I provide independent before-buy photo assessments for real-world, wearable watches — especially pre-owned and vintage pieces.

Because of extremely high-grade superfake replicas and the need for in-person inspection, I do not offer photo-based checks for:

I mainly work with:

Japanese brands

Seiko, Citizen, Orient / Orient Star, Casio / G-Shock

Swiss mid-tier & upper mid-tier

Tissot, Certina, Hamilton, Mido, Longines, Glycine, Victorinox, Oris, Omega, Tudor, Tag Heuer, Rado, Raymond Weil, Maurice Lacroix, Baume & Mercier, Zodiac

Microbrands & independent manufacturers

Christopher Ward, Yema, Baltic, Squale, Steinhart, Nodus, Marathon, Dan Henry

Vintage luxury watches (pre-2000)

Vintage Rolex, vintage Cartier, vintage Breitling, vintage Omega, vintage Tudor and similar models that can be reliably evaluated from photos due to natural aging patterns.

If your watch is not listed here, feel free to contact me before ordering.

Modern luxury watches (approx. 2000s–present)

Including, but not limited to:

Modern Rolex (current Submariner, GMT-Master, Daytona, Yacht-Master, etc.)

Modern Cartier (Tank, Santos, Ballon Bleu, etc.)

Modern Breitling

Patek Philippe

Richard Mille

Audemars Piguet

IWC

The cutoff is approx. early 2000s:

Watches made before ~2000 are generally accepted if they show natural aging and are from brands listed in the “What I Check” section.

Watches made after ~2000 (modern era) from the brands above are not accepted due to superfake risk.

If you’re unsure whether your watch is accepted, please contact me before ordering.

What I Don’t Check

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

For an accurate assessment, please upload clear photos of the watch: front, back, sides, dial close-up, clasp/bracelet and any visible wear or details.

Please avoid blurry, dark, or extremely distant photos.

Photo limits by package:

Quick: up to 4 photos

Full: up to 10 photos

Pro: up to 10 photos

If more photos are sent, an upgrade may be required.

You may also send the seller’s listing link, but access is not guaranteed due to regional restrictions, private groups or removed listings. Always upload the photos directly, even if you include the link.

Frequently asked questions

What is this service?

TrustMyWatch is an independent before-buy photo assessment service for watches listed on online marketplaces. I review the photos you upload and provide a clear expert opinion before you commit to a purchase.

Do you give an official authentication?

No. This is not an official certification or guarantee, but an independent expert visual opinion based solely on the photos you provide.

Which brands do you check?

I work with:

  • Japanese brands (Seiko, Citizen, Orient, Casio)

  • Mid-tier and upper mid-tier Swiss watches

  • Vintage luxury watches (pre-2000) such as vintage Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Omega, Tudor
For full details, see the “What I Check” section.

Which watches are not accepted?

Due to extremely high-grade superfake replicas, I do not check modern luxury watches (approx. 2000s–present) from brands such as:

Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, etc.

Only vintage pieces from these brands are accepted. For full details, see the “What I Don’t Check” section.

How does it work?

You send the seller’s listing photos → I review them → you receive a written expert opinion with condition notes, red flags and a fair market value estimate. After payment, please email the photos with your name & order number: trustmywatch@gmail.com.

Can I send the listing link instead of photos?

Yes, you may send the seller’s link — however, access is not guaranteed.

Listings may be unavailable due to:

  • regional restrictions (e.g., US-only platforms)

  • private groups or closed sales communities

  • platform login requirements

  • removed or expired listings

For the most accurate review, please always upload the photos directly, even if you also include the listing link.

What kind of photos do I need to send?

Clear, sharp, well-lit photos of:

  • front

  • back

  • sides

  • dial

  • clasp/bracelet

  • movement (if available)
Better photos = more accurate assessment.

Can you check a watch I already bought?

Yes.

If you already have the watch in hand and are worried it might be fake, you can still submit your own photos for a post-purchase assessment.

How long does it take?

Delivery time depends on the package you select:

  • Quick Check: 24–48 hours

  • Full Check: 36–48 hours

  • Pro Check: within 24 hours
Time starts when all required photos have been received.

Do you offer refunds?

Because this is a manual expert service, all orders are final.Once the review has started, the service cannot be cancelled or refunded.
